About TFM Country StoreOur Roots
Our History
Established Heritage, Evolving Traditions
A W Nevile Ltd, trading as Thorpe Farm Repairs, was originally founded in Thorpe on the Hill to serve Mr. A W Nevile’s farming operations and those of nearby farms. The business moved to its current location in Whisby around 1976 to better accommodate the needs of the growing community.
In 1995, Frank Harris was brought on board to manage the operations of Thorpe Farm Repairs, marking a pivotal moment in the company’s evolution. As the farming landscape changed, with many smaller farms ceasing to trade and larger farms no longer utilising the services, Thorpe Farm Repairs adapted. The business expanded its product offerings to include essential supplies for horses and dogs, while also venturing into equipment hire with the acquisition of its first manure spreader.
Recognising the need for a name change, the business rebranded to TFM Country Store, reflecting its broader focus and the shift away from its roots in farming. This evolution ensured its continued success and relevance in a changing market.
In 2012, with the passing of Mr. A W Nevile, the business was entrusted to Frank Harris in his Will. Recognizing Frank’s significant contributions and vision in adapting the business, Mr. Nevile’s decision ensured that TFM Country Store would continue to thrive long into the future.
Sadly, Frank Harris passed away in June 2023. His legacy lives on as his daughter, Nikki, and granddaughter, Louise, now carry on the family business, continuing to uphold the values of innovation, community, and service that Frank championed.
Our HistoryA Family Run Business
In 2014, as Frank neared retirement, his daughter Nikki joined the business, taking on a more prominent role. This transition allowed Frank to step back and reduce his hours, ensuring the continued growth and success of the company under fresh leadership. Since then, TFM Country Store has continued to adapt and expand, enhancing its services and product offerings to better meet the needs of its customers.
Following Frank’s passing in 2023, Nikki and her daughter Louise stepped into leadership roles, with Louise now overseeing the daily operations of the business. As TFM Country Store looks to the future, Nikki and Louise remain dedicated to upholding the core values of community, service, and innovation, ensuring the business continues to evolve and prosper for years to come.
What ourCustomers Say
Been buying our raw food from here for a couple of months now. They are so incredibly helpful, even letting me order the food and putting it behind the counter so my partner can pick it up during his lunch break! The customer service is amazing, the dogs love the food and they sell a great range of natural dog chews too! One of the best places to go now for dog food and treats!
